Show Information

Based on the true story of the Von Trapp family in World War II, The Sound of Music is the tale of friendly nun Maria who is sent by her convent to be governess to Captain Von Trapp's seven rowdy children.

Whilst with the Von Trapp children, Maria falls in love with the captain and the children and their father discover the wonders of music and laughter. For those that do not know the story we won't include the dramatic ending, you will have to watch to find out what happens to the family and Maria.

Andrew Lloyd Webber and David Ian have combined forces to recreate one of the most popular musicals of all time. With a leading lady cast by public vote after the BBC1 series How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria and a creative team that between them have grossed millions at the box office worldwide The Sound of Music will be a musical like no other.

Currently starring 'How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria' Winner Connie Fisher
