Set in the turbulent climate of war-torn Europe, The 39 Steps is a dashing espionage story with a rather wicked comic twist.
Richard Hannay, a debonair gentleman who has just returned from Southern Rhodesia, is unable to contact the police because he has been framed as the prime suspect in a murder. Hannay has no choice but to flee to Scotland to deliver some imperative military secrets and attempt to clear his name.
